Payton Bunting - Class of 2021 - October 25
My artwork centers around emotion, and the people my art effects. I think it's important for my art to leave an impact on the viewer. With my art, I don't like all of it to look the same, so I'm not afraid to test different styles and media. I enjoy drawing different creatures with an abundance of personality and character, but I don’t like reserving my art of darker tones. My main goal in making art is to include honing the skills of that of a career at an animation studio.
I like to get most of my ideas from the world around me, through music, and the things I've experienced. Once I get an idea, I think about what the most interesting thing about the idea is, and enhance it to its full potential by trying to speak to my audience or by making compelling characters. When I publish my art I like to get critiqued, which greatly helps me in improving my skills and learning what I can do better.Recently I’ve been drawing, scanning the drawing, editing it and coloring it in Photoshop, and then printing it out.I really like this method because I have the comfort of drawing in my sketchbook and I have the freedom to improve it in Photoshop.
For my work I like to explore the emotion of the scene and the emotion of my audience. I like to make the audience remember how my piece made them feel and for it to impact them in some way. I always feel uplifted when my art makes people feel something. When I was a little kid I always drew creatures and I still love drawing them but I've grown more as an artist to create other topics. I love challenging myself to discover new ways to make art and new topics to uncover. I love doing what I do, and I want this to be apart of my career.
